Justin Hyatt

Owner and Founder

Founder Justin Hyatt was raised in the construction industry, gaining foundational experience alongside his father, Gerald Hyatt, in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2011, Justin relocated to Austin to establish G Hyatt Construction, a firm named in honor of his father’s legacy.

Since its inception, the company has successfully delivered a diverse array of projects. Our portfolio includes parks, police stations, senior centers, apartments, streetscapes, office buildings, pools, community centers, substations, schools, dormitories, hotels, and visitor centers. Above all else, we prioritize the value of knowledge and experience, bringing both to the forefront of every project we undertake.

Leadership & Operations

Monica Hyatt

Vice President

Monica joined the Hyatt Construction leadership team in 2021. Before transitioning into the construction industry, she built a distinguished career managing large-scale operations within the dental and veterinary sectors.

She brings a comprehensive background in business management, team leadership, and project oversight to the firm. Outside of professional hours, Monica is an active volleyball player and enjoys hiking in the Austin area with her husband, their daughter, and their three dogs.

Ryan Waeltermann

Superintendent

A dedicated member of the team since 2019, Ryan has overseen a wide variety of key projects. His portfolio includes the Westgate Transit Center, Shipe Park, Mission Tejas State Park, Eastside Bus Plaza, City of Round Rock Downtown Streetscapes, LA Cima Recreation Center, CARTS Bastrop, and CARTS Elgin. In his spare time, Ryan is an avid enthusiast of recreational sports, including softball, volleyball, and disc golf.

Dana Mathews

Superintendent

With a lifelong career in the construction industry, Dana brings decades of experience to the team. Originally a traveling superintendent in Indiana, he transitioned to the Texas market over 10 years ago and joined Hyatt Construction in 2023.

Known for his extraordinary depth of knowledge and ability to integrate seamlessly into complex projects, Dana is a firm believer in the motto, "Achieve the possible." He enjoys a good joke, a wide variety of music and food, and has fully embraced the Texas cowboy lifestyle. His primary professional principle is a strict adherence to punctuality.

Roy Chavez

Superintendent

Roy Chavez joined the firm in 2022, bringing over 15 years of valuable experience in both commercial and residential construction. Although a recent addition to the team, his industry expertise has proven instrumental in project success. Roy resides in Georgetown, TX, with his wife, two children, two dogs, and a bearded dragon. He enjoys mountain biking, attending concerts, and spending quality time with his family.
